Why is feminism such a sensation?

When I tell people that I am a supporter of the feminist movement, the typical reaction I get is,"Oh My God...Why do you hate men?" Yup, that's it. That's how shallow the literal meaning of feminism has become. People don't understand the fact that feminism is not a movement which is striving to make one gender superior to the other. It is actually struggling to make women rights equal to those of men. So why is feminism such a sensation? Why isn't it just straight forward like the #MeToo movement (pun intended)?!! Let me explain. It is because people these days are becoming increasingly pressurized by the society to promote the patriarchal way of life. I am not saying that this way of life is bad, instead, it is rigid. It does not leave any scope for the female 🚺 community to flourish.
