Reserved or Deserved?

READER'S ALERT- The following article is purely based on the author's views and does not aim at hurting any individual's feelings. It does not project hate or dislike for any particular group or institution. However, it does hope to make a change.

Okay, let's start with a general knowledge question. What are the five most rapidly increasing controversies in India right now? Answer in the comments section below๐Ÿ‘‡.

I think I can help you with one. The hottest controversy of them all is undoubtedly the reservation system in our country.

The reservation system came into picture post independence. Leaders like Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and B.P. Mandal took initiatives to grant separate electorates and states to the backward communities in India, but the official declarations were given only after August 1947. The main intention was to provide free education and equal rights to those who had been overshadowed by the privileged. But don't we all know that? Don't we already know that this system is meant for the empowerment of the suppressed castes? What we need to know is whether it is really proving to be helpful or is it just like the other textual schemes that exist in India. What we need to know is whether reservation is really a help, or a hindrance to our national progress.

Firstly, I do not want the reservation system to be wiped off completely. It has definitely helped the backward tribes come into limelight and ensured their progress. But what disturbs me is the misuse.
Numerous professional areas, institutions, competitive examinations and administrative offices have a fixed number of seats for the SCs , STs , OBCs, which can be secured purely on the basis of one's status in the society. This does not leave much scope for the general category of the population to flourish.

Deserving job applicants, meritorious sportsmen and dutiful students from the general pocket are ultimately falling prey to this fair and just system (I really hope you get it). In many major colleges of India, undue reservation has resulted in misapplication of the academic rights and as a school going youth of today, one of my main concerns is built around the anxiety of not getting my desired college because of reservations and quotas.

The reservation system, in my opinion should only be limited to financial aid being offered to those who really in need of it. If the stats are checked, the only minority in our country is the remaining general population.I am pretty sure most of you know at least one person who has enough facilities and education to last a hundred lifetimes and yet, possesses a reserved category document to adorn the hundred lifetimes. If you are still not sure as to why reservation is an unsupervised phenomena, the ascending corruption in our country will definitely tell the tale.

At the end of the day, it is up to us, as the citizens of our country to project the right answer to the question,'' Is India the country of the reserved or the deserved?"

  2. Clearly a view point of the young budding generation of India... A well-contextuated article that highlights the plight, the sufferings and the apprehensions abt future from the young people and the much unwanted advantage that the people who have got their seats reserved have... The alternative method provided makes much more sense in a modern India where anyone can directly adress their grievances to the Goveuof India within seconds due to enhanced communications rather than having fine talent left to rot, as said "It's better to wear out than to rust out"

  5. Amazing article ๐Ÿ˜€!!!
The article not only expresses the view of the snowflake generation but does so in a smooth and gentle way providing a holistic view on the troubles of the modern society scrutinizing the nefarical minds set of such harsh systems incorporated in our so called civilization.
The author has a strong grip over the concept of expression nay, has even powerfully and impeccably displayed the old saying in the literal sense "pen is mighter than the sword".
Providing us inferior thinkers with food for thought and hungry for much more.

Feminism: Through the Looking Glass

Whenever I say that I am a feminist, all I see is heads turning around, accusing glances, and exasperated exclamations of “Oh, my God! Why do you hate men?” Oh wait, you’ve heard that one before. Now scroll for fresh content.   Thank you. My point is, no matter how many times I reiterate the same words, the matter of concern never budges from its rusty old shelf. Raising a voice against gender inequality in today’s society has become synonymous with man-hating. Feminism has gained an unpopular status in society. As feminists, women have been called too aggressive, too strong, anti-men, and unattractive, even. The recited movements, protests and demonstrations with the aim of creating a place of parity for men and women in the past, have often been associated with the superiority of the latter over the former.         Why is that, we wonder. The reason lies in the folds of ever-intensifying patriarchal curtains that drape the world all ...

I'm a 2000's KID

I'm a 21st Century, 2000's kid Grew up watching everything,  From Sherlock to Wake Up Sid. Remember praying to God with my friends, Asking for teenage to arrive sooner  With desperate sincerity.... But instead of celebrating this youth,  We ended up fighting depression and anxiety. It's all so exhausting, Every second seems uninspiring, I'm drained out- emotionally and physically, Just hopelessly dreaming.... Oh wait, what news did Instagram now bring? Never imagined being quarantined, For the whole of 2020 Was really possible, These online sessions had me going berserk, How much can I go on asking, "Hey, am I audible?" Each day passes, and I still have  A hard time believing in the actuality, That comes with the negligence , Of what really matters- Racism, gender disparity and HOMOSEXUALITY (!!!) Yes, let's talk about that, shall we? Okay, so I do find girls pretty, And some boys not handsome, But now I'm scared of the 'vigilance committee', ...

Why is feminism such a sensation?

When I tell people that I am a supporter of the feminist movement, the typical reaction I get is,"Oh My God...Why do you hate men?" Yup, that's it. That's how shallow the literal meaning of feminism has become. People don't understand the fact that feminism is not a movement which is striving to make one gender superior to the other. It is actually struggling to make women rights equal to those of men. So why is feminism such a sensation? Why isn't it just straight forward like the #MeToo movement (pun intended)?!! Let me explain. It is because people these days are becoming increasingly pressurized by the society to promote the patriarchal way of life. I am not saying that this way of life is bad, instead, it is rigid. It does not leave any scope for the female ๐Ÿšบ community to flourish. And even though conditions have improved, what saddens me is that no one is standing up to the injustice.  Inequality,  nowadays is the part and parcel of any aspect of ...
