When I tell people that I am a supporter of the feminist movement, the typical reaction I get is,"Oh My God...Why do you hate men?"
Yup, that's it. That's how shallow the literal meaning of feminism has become. People don't understand the fact that feminism is not a movement which is striving to make one gender superior to the other. It is actually struggling to make women rights equal to those of men.
So why is feminism such a sensation? Why isn't it just straight forward like the #MeToo movement (pun intended)?!!
Let me explain. It is because people these days are becoming increasingly pressurized by the society to promote the patriarchal way of life. I am not saying that this way of life is bad, instead, it is rigid. It does not leave any scope for the female 🚺 community to flourish. And even though conditions have improved, what saddens me is that no one is standing up to the injustice. Inequality, nowadays is the part and parcel of any aspect of life, especially in our country. Be it the Bollywood industry, or the media, or the Labour industry, discrimination is prevalent anywhere and everywhere. Rape cases, unequal wages, duration of working hours, distribution of activities and so much more, is decided only on the basis of the gender of the employee.
So tell me....why is everyone hell bent on proving feminism wrong? Feminism only and only aims at ensuring equality among all communities of the society. Not only will it empower women....but also bring about a change in the orthodox mindset. Feminism will make everyone believe, that pink colour and blue color are not gender biased. Then why are we?

You penned down my thoughts. Love this. People don't realize that feminism fights toxic masculinity and the lack of intersectionality too. But we can't really help it if they are not willing to understand. Ignorance and the illusion of knowledge will always be our greatest problem. Would love to see more articles.
ReplyDeleteVery right.
DeleteCheck out my blog on the reservation system too
On the first day of my new school, I said that I was a feminist during a debate. What followed was a very awkward silence. The topic of feminism is such a taboo today and being a feminist is even worst.
ReplyDeleteYup.
DeleteA well-cited article... One that deserves commendation at the hands of your Master... And the right to show the illusioned people their plight... These are the type of articles that the youth of every generation should cadre to, to understand the faux bullshit that goes on in the name of Feminism. .I respect your decision to undertake such a bold leap to make us sense the fine line between the actual feminism and the other tags attached to it to make another faux nonsense

DeleteAnything written in this context will be less as the way you have portrayed the situation, I see corona no less than a hero and a villain at the same time. I'd add, it's not just about going through it but also GROWING through the present conditions and take them as an opportunity to let mother earth heal and sense unity along with a tinch of understanding our own selves... You're doing wonders through words. Keep it up buddy!❤💯
